My Writing Room…
The idea hear is to show you where I work, a little of how I work. Some insights into where the ideas come from and how they develop, but mostly to show you me.
Well this is where I started, my Grandad’s old unit. It’s meant to have a glass cabinet on the top, I still have the top but it’s in a cupboard as the fixings broke. This unit has travelled well; London > Southend-On-Sea> Hertfordshire> Lincolnshire> London> Cornwall. Anyway, I started my first book years ago, an absolute horror and the entire nine hundred pages were thrown. Every word had been written in long hand.
When I started writing again in 2014, I used my iPad. Pages seemed to be a good option at the time, as the laptop I had did not have word. After many different ways of trying to reformat the book for the publishing companies with the software I had available, I bit the bullet and installed word. This is the easiest way to go. Not only did I not have to rely on just my thumbs for typing, but it also meant that I could format the book properly and relax more.
Not only that but I managed to lose the damn Qwerty Keyboard.
So now I write here, nothing amazing I know. But most of my reference books are at hand and I have my music as well. Many people have asked me how it is that I am able to write with music playing at the same time? It was not something I had ever thought of, it was and is just what I do.
I can understand what people mean, but to me, it’s my own world. One where I control what goes in. There is no way I could find time and absolute peace to write. So I listen to my records and control the environment that way.
That’s all for now, more will appear over the months as posts on this page. so stay tuned.
